An ancient artifact referred to as a 'marker' is unearthed, the first one in 200 years. It's a strange rock formation talked about by a spiritual leader 200 years earlier. The markers discovery confirms the religions beliefs and the followers as well as the doubters of the faith will have their relationships with each other changed permanently.

Dead Space Motion Comic series is a prequel to a prequel. First comes the Motion Comics, then the feature length animated movie, then finally the fantastic game from EA.

This was a beautifully animated comic, I like when motion comics stick true to comic book style - minimal movement. This does that, letting the excellent sound and voices create the drama and tension. The rough-edged, sketchy artwork compliments the horror and violent theme. The only small let-down was that it is sometimes hard to tell where the characters are and which directions they are moving through scenes (I think really only at one point in final episode when a group is going through a room of infected creatures eating dead bodies) but perhaps this adds to the air of confusion. Ultimately it was the wonderful story, invented world and characters of Dead Space which made it so watchable and more-ish. I am intrigued to look into the rest of the franchise. A very enjoyable and self-contained motion comic, perfect for anyone who likes horror or sci-fi, and a good way to introduce someone to motion comics.
I think it needed more development in visual department.
Well I've heard this series did not start off well. I agree with that. But apparently it gets better. I'd be surprised if it got any worse.
Great use of voice acting, editing was nice and sharp, characters were interesting, the story makes me want more. The are wasn't awesome but the story holds its own. Makes me want to play the game or watch this as a film.
Waaaay too much unnecessary swearing in this. Key word being unnecessary. The first few minutes aren't as good as they should be, you don't really get into the story or characters until past halfway. Too much left untold in a first episode. In saying that, it is worth checking out though cause it gets good towards the end. This is enough to warrant checking out the series.
